Hey Everyone,
A lot has happened this week not only in my life but in the world. My first week of nursing school is over! Only 12 more weeks to go into the semester then I am in my last semester. Very excited! The first week back was good and not as stressful as I thought it would be. I start my clinicals next week and can’t wait for that. For my care of older adults clinical, I get to do some rotations in home health (which is probably what I am going to go into after a year of working at a hospital) & I have to put on a health fair for the community…me and my partner that is. I am really excited about that too. I love health fairs and teaching people things. I will keep you updated on how my clinicals are going.
Yesterday, I had to go to one of the clinical sites and get a parking pass because they are highly strict on parking and will give you ticket. So I went thinking all I would have to do is turn in my registration form for my parking pass and show some ID and then I would be on my merry way. Well….turns out that they have to finger print you, take your picture, and ask you all of these questions. It was really strict. Also, I had a problem with the finger printing part lol. I think the office was thinking “Man if this woman can’t give finger prints right….I would hate to see her working in a hospital.” I swear I had to redo them a hundred times…good thing there wasn’t a line :-D.
I have a nice long weekend because we don’t have school on Monday…it’s Labor Day. So I will be enjoying that one. Well…if you have been paying attention to the news I suppose you have already heard who John McCain’s vice presidental pick is! It is Sarah Palin a woman! I am so excited. I can’t believe he picked a woman as his running mate. I really didn’t see that coming. When my husband told me over phone who he picked I thought he was lying. I just hope it was a good choice and only time will tell when the election comes up. Here is what she looks like:
Could this be our new vice president?
I am glad he picked her because it adds a new challenge in the race. I have to say this has been the most interesting presidential race in history. We have two people I thought that would never be in the running for president and vice president. A woman and an African American! I LOVE it. I am glad the US has finally put some of it racism & sexism behind them. I wasn’t going to vote at first because I didn’t know which candidate I would pick but now after doing some research I am going to re-register and vote!
After reading about Governor Palin, I LOVE what she stands for and her work as Alaska’s governor has been great. Yeah, she might be lacking some experience (just like Obama) BUT she has John McCain’s experience to balance it out. I just hope she can show the world who she is and win them over because a lot people are not feeling his pick. Some think is was a risky move and others think it is brilliant!
Until next time……..
