Hey Everyone,
I hope every one is doing great and for all you who are in school I hope the first day back went well for you. My first day back consisted of orientation for my Senior Practicum & a Dosage and Calculations Exam. I am so ready to get this semester over with already because I can’t wait to graduate. The thought that this semester is my last is the only thing getting me through it. Overall, today wasn’t that bad but it was sort of stressful hearing everything that is due this semester because it is all thrown at you at once. However, I just have to remember it won’t be that bad and everything isn’t due right at once.
I am excited about my clinical though. Like I said in December, I’m on a ICU step-down cardiac unit. I am hoping to learn a lot so I can feel a little more confident when I graduate and before I enter my “real” job. The perks of this semester is that I only have class one day a week from 8:15am-3:30pm which is absolutely awesome and the rest of the time is open for me to attend clinicals, meetings, study, and do whatever. It really helps only having class one day a week….it feels sort of weird though because I feel like I should be busy everyday (like it usually is). I guess it gives me more time to study for my exit HESI.
My schedule for next week consists of the following: Wednesday class 8:15am-3:30pm & Friday at 3:00pm a meeting with my precptor for my Senior Practicum. I have heard she is great and I can’t wait to meet her. During my meeting with her I will look at her schedule and pick the days I need to attend and go through the basics. I have to do 240 clinicals hours….so I am thinking about pulling about 2 12 hour shifts a week. I will let you know how everything goes next. Well I’m off to study….fun fun!! I hope everyone is keeping warm and have a great Friday!
Until next time,
Sarah
