Woohoo the Semester is Over & Only one More Semester of Nursing School Left

Hey Everyone,

This semester of nursing school is officially over….only one more to go and then I’m done! You have no idea how long I have waited to enter into my last semester of nursing school. I am so over school! I was calculating how long I have been in school straight and it equals up to about 17 years (that’s including kindergarten to a Senior in college). I am very ready to enter the work force and officially not be called a student ever again.

My finals were all okay except for my older adults final…which was very hard and half of the questions were not on the blue print. I did really well on all of my finals except for that one. I got a freaking 83 on it….yeah an 83 is good it’s passing but considering all of my other test grades which were in the high nineties and I did all of the assignments….. I am going to get a B+ in the class. I was hoping for an A but I will take a B+ (sorry for whining and complaining but the final wasn’t fair and the lectures that went with them weren’t very good). Oh yeah and not to mention the class average was a 79 which isn’t very good.

Today I have already started practicing for my HESI that I have to take sometime next semester. It is the exit HESI that I HAVE to pass in order to graduate. No ifs ands or buts I have to pass it in order to get my degree. If I don’t pass it I can walk across the stage at graduation but I don’t get my diploma which means I can’t take the NCLEX-RN until I pass it. I am currently using the Saunders Comprehensive NCLEX review book to study for it. I am doing the questions on the CD right now. However, sometime next week I am going to buy a new book to have also. I am thinking something by Kaplan may be?? I heard they have really good NCLEX review books. Any suggestions?

This break I plan on resting a lot, eating, studying for my HESI, spend time with Ben, watching movies, and being lazy! However, I can’t wait for January 15th to get here because the sooner I get this school stuff over the better. Oh how I can’t wait for May 9th to get here??!! This weekend I am going to go and visit Ben’s mom and my family. I can’t wait because I haven’t seen Ben’s mom in a long time!!

I hope every one has a great rest of the week and enjoy the break. Until next time,

Sarah ;-)

Two Finals Down & One more to go, Christmas with the Family, & it’s Cold Outside!

Hey Everyone,

I hope every one’s week is starting out with a bang. My week has been pretty good because I am getting these dreadful finals over with. This morning 8 am- 10 am I had a final for my adult class which wasn’t that bad and I feel I did really well on it. Then I came home fixed Ben and I some food….hamburgers & tater-tots. Studied for my next exam which was at 120 pm. This final was for my population-based nursing care class and the test wasn’t hard. It was just like the study questions our teacher gave us and some stuff from our book but it was rather easy. I love that teacher….she is so sweet!

Then I came home….very brain dead at this point (don’t know if I would qualify for the legal definition of brain dead though….lol inside nursing joke). I tried to spend time with Ben but was very sleepy so I took a nap for about 2 hours and I am here typing this posts. Naps are great you know….I always wake up feeling refreshed from them.

I am very excited about Christmas!! My mom said that she is going to have Christmas at her house. I was sort of sad about Thanksgiving because I usually have it with my family but every one was busy and couldn’t have it but for Christmas my family and I are going to get together. I love seeing my grandparents & cousins! I will post pictures after we have our get-together. Guess what we are having…. lol my family is weird (that what Ben’s says anyways about our get-together meals) Mexican theme food such as enchiladas, Mexican rice, chip & dips…etc. Yeah…not your traditional Christmas meal is it??!! But I love Mexican food and since I ate A LOT of turkey for Thanksgiving I am craving that Mexican food.

I hope every one is keeping warm because I’m freezing. I hope we have a white Christmas here in TN….we haven’t had one is a looong time! Good lucks on your finals everyone!

Until next time,

Sarah :-)
